The Secret of Louis Armstrong!

OMG!!!  OMG!!!  OMG!!!

We are living in the prophesied end times, when the Lord pours out his Spirit on all flesh!  (Joel 2:28). But who could predict what some of these manifestations would be!

I just had an overpowering vision of Louis Armstrong, returning with Jesus Christ, riding down with His Saints, from Heaven, blowing his Trumpet!  Tears are filling my eyes!  So many things are coming together for me with this vision!

Bible-believing clergy often remind us that what we do on earth, if we’re tuned in, is preparatory, literally, for what we do in the Heavenly after life and for when we return to earth, to rule and reign for a thousand years!

So the Holy Spirit brought this all together in a moment.  As a youth, young Louis received a cornet from a Jewish couple.  They prayed a Blessing over this trumpet and for Louie.  In God’s Sovereignty, it was no accident.

In his trumpet teleology and development, Louis was aware of the spiritual roots of jazz, its Pentecostal origins and spirituals sung by slaves, as well as the substance of the New Orleans funeral marches in the early 1900s.

Indeed, Shelton G. Berg wrote, “When a musician composes or improvises, the material emanates from two creative wells.  There is the ‘spiritual’ well, which houses our emotions and experiences, and also the ‘technical’ well, in which resides the theoretical elements that we have practiced and perfected.  Music is at its best when the impetus is from the spiritual well.  The technical well will be unconsciously called upon to provide the raw materials of expression.”

No one knew this better, or felt this more deeply, than Louis Armstrong (who also saw, through the decades, the misdirection of the spiritual and therefore technical, tainted by jazz icons, influenced by and soon dead from drugs and alcohol).

In the Armstrong repertoire, we see the first spiritual influences of jazz sustained in his “Shadrack” and the ever popular, “When The Saints Go Marching In,” the latter so popular it can still be heard whistled around the world; its recordings and sheet music still purchased regularly, by students, in western civilization and beyond.

But the most amazing song, of Louis Armstrong, was revealed posthumously!  Posthumously!  Has anyone ever wondered why “What A Wonderful World” was revealed posthumously?  It was kept a secret.  It was his message of the Heaven he’d encountered before his passing! And, with that classical smile of pearlies, he wanted “What A Wonderful World” to be a message to the world after his arrival in Heaven!

For sure, it’s not his description of earth, in the present he knew.  No.  He was describing his very real vision of Heaven!  Just as Martin Luther King had been “to the mountain top,” Louis Armstrong’s posthumous song was a vision of his experience in Heaven!  And the ultimate answer and fulfillment to everyone who has ever prayed the Our Father, with “On earth as it is in Heaven,” is exactly the scene when Jesus Christ returns with His saints, to rule and reign on earth a thousand years! Musically!

And with the majestic “Power Arrival” of the glorious Jewish King, Jesus Christ, is the one and only Louis Armstrong, blowing his trumpet unlike it’s ever been blown before! Right into the ears of the Messiah and for all the world to hear!  Now THAT is something to look forward to!  And tears are still filling my eyes.

I must add a personal note.  In 2011, when I left my mother’s hospital room for the last time, I softly kissed her on the forehead and days later she passed away.  But after that kiss on the forehead, leaving her for the last time, a nurse came in as I was going out, who activated in a music box “What a Wonderful World.”  It was the last song I heard in her presence.  And until today, I thought, “That makes no sense to me!  What kind of a world has it been for her, when she’s been in pain every day for two years?”  But it was only today I realized it was Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” she’d soon be going to: Heaven! And that song consoled her very much!  And it was a supreme irony that all her life, she’d had a strong fear of black people; yet this was the last song she’d hear, consoling her more than any other, by the black man, Louis Armstrong.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LAST DAYS

The Holy Spirit wants Freedom of Speech.  For Himself!  Listen.  The Holy Spirit wants Freedom of Speech for Himself.

The Church began on the day of Pentecost with Tongues of Fire!  This gave the Holy Spirit greater Freedom of Speech.  Through you.  Through Christians of all ages.

Christian initiation and Baptism in the Holy Spirit  is evident in the first eight centuries of Christianity, reveals authors and researchers Kilian McDonnell and George T. Montague.

New evidence found in the post-biblical authors demonstrates that what is called baptism in the Holy Spirit was integral to Christian initiation. This means baptism in the Spirit does not belong to private piety but to public official liturgy and is normative.

To censor the Holy Spirit in Sunday services and elsewhere is to surely invite serious prohibition on one’s own Freedom of Speech.  Simply because you reap what you sow.  Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty. 

Where the Spirit of the Lord is not given free reign, there is no Liberty.  Put the Holy Spirit on Lockdown and reap the consequences.  Restrain the Restrainer and experience restraints on yourself and your way of life.

The way forward is the way back.  We must return to the Christian Initiations of the first eight centuries.  Especially in these perilous times, there are many reasons for this!  Not the least of which is to offset the growing occult external and internal to churches.

The tongue is the most unruly part of your body.  When this is controlled by Holy Spirit speaking in tongues and interpretation, God’s control and order is manifested, moving forth His agenda! 

Today, Satan has an arsenal of “logical reasons” to keep the Holy Spirit on Lockdown.  To keep, if you will, a mask on His face.  A demonically-crafted muzzle!  Here are some of these “logical” reasons:

  • “YouTube Sunday services must be perfect in every way!  The creativity of the Holy Spirit must be flawless.  We want to be our Best for Soros-controlled YouTube!”  But to enforce this “logic” in the politest of ways is still IDOLATRY. Putting one’s pride in flawless YouTube presentations, over positive Holy Spirit interruptions, is IDOLATRY.
  • “Those with a Word through Tongues and Interpretation must first bring it to the clergy before the service or before giving.”  This seems so logical!  The clergy are made to feel safe and secure.  All potential embarrassments are under control.  But guess what…  This is not how it works!  Very often the Holy Spirit doesn’t inspire, with tongues and interpretation for the congregation, till the service – especially the song service – is well underway and, when welcomed into the service, then He gives a word at that time!  (This yields very interesting and welcome experiences. A word given between songs is often related to the theme of the upcoming song, to the delight of pastor and congregation, though the one Speaking in Tongues is consciously unaware of what the next song is.  Or a Word between song service and sermon often reveals the theme of the upcoming sermon – such as “Be instant in season and out of season” – though, again, the one expressing does now know what the theme is.  Both the above happen a lot!)
  • “What if the tongues and interpretation says something against the clergy? Corrects us?  Chastises us?  Embarrasses us?  Is it not wisdom to prevent this so the clergy doesn’t live in constant fear?”  And this seems so “logical.”  But this is logic dictated by fear and not by true Christian love, as “They will know we are Christians by our love, by our love.”  This “logic” also shows a serious lack of trust in God to control situations and resorts to measures of the “natural man.”  Also, just because a pastor disagrees with a Spirit-filled congregant on other debatable issues, should not mean the Holy Spirit is stifled and banned when the congregant needs to give a Word in obedience to the Holy Spirit.  The pastor’s  censorship can be a serious sin at this point, when banning the Holy Spirit from speaking through an imperfect human.  (Why doesn’t God use only perfect people?  Because there aren’t any.) 

All the above reasons are “logic” for keeping the Holy Spirit on Lockdown, for Restraining the Restrainer.  Of course, any “Logic 101” book worth its salt will tell you logic is not truth. But wait.  There’s more! 

  • “Teenage girls may become frightened and not return to church with their families.” But weren’t there teenage girls in the first eight centuries of Christianity?  Of course! Did not their parents prepare them beforehand – early charismatics possibly speaking in tongues themselves – so Satan could not make them experience fear at the Gifts of the Spirit?  Indeed, in today’s world, this is the responsibility of parents and clergy alike.
  • “First timers and newcomers may never, ever come back, when hearing Tongues and Interpretation for the first time.”  But doesn’t the Divinely-inspired Word of God assure us that tongues is for the unbeliever.  When heard and experienced, the Holy Spirit does His work in the new person.
  • “Five years ago, there was a person at a conference who gave an inappropriate word in tongues and interpretation.  From that day forward, I vowed I would not let that happen in my congregation.”  Sounds so responsible, doesn’t it.  Sounds so “logical.”  But does one bad apple spoil the whole bunch?  Do we throw a full barrel of excellent apples away because of one?  Too, the one with an inappropriate word may have been an occult infiltrator or merely a growing and maturing Christian.  I’m sure the leaders in the first eight centuries prayed for discernment for themselves and the congregations to determine authenticity.
  • “People will say we’re occultic and we’ll get a bad reputation.”  Wait a minute. It’s the rapidly increasing occult which needs Christian conversion and the Divinely supernatural will draw them.  Otherwise, hunger for the supernatural will lead more and more seekers into the occult.  And this culminates in making the end times even more perilous… 

And now we’re back at the beginning:

The Holy Spirit wants Freedom of Speech.  For Himself!  Listen.  The Holy Spirit wants Freedom of Speech for Himself.

Recently, I expressed a Tongues and Interpretation Message in a Sunday service.  Immediately following, a Mennonite woman ran up to the pastor and said, “I understood every word of it!  It’s old Slavic German and I understood every word!”  Then she came to me with four other women and said, “I understood every word of it!  It’s old Slavic German and I understood every word!  The Mennonites keep the language alive.”

“Well,” I said, “maybe you’re to now receive the Gift of Tongues and Interpretation and take it back to the Mennonites.”  Clearly, the Holy Spirit wasn’t on Lockdown that day!

But listen.  If you are a pastor and keep the Holy Spirit on Lockdown, you are guilty of Apostasy.  Today, it is time for positive adjustments.

In the Presence of God, you never know what comes up next!

This morning, I was perusing the 4-fold purpose of God for man.  A personal study showed the purposes are Relationship, Character, Function and Reproduction.

Under Reproduction, one easily sees God created man to share some of His creative powers.  Under Function, God created man to have someone share in His function of ruling the universe.

And then the Rhema suddenly came upon me:  “Do you know you will be ruling the universe with Music?”  Even as I type this I’m flooded with Holy Spirit Power!  I was pleasantly Stunned and Delighted! 

“I never, ever thought of this before,” was my immediate response.  Indeed, we are so attuned and over-conditioned, on earth, to bureaucracy and administration, that I had not experienced a hint of music for Millennial rulers!

So be it!  “So that’s why Christian musicians work so hard down here!  It’s a preparation for the next life!  Not merely an occasional embellishment in this terse, earthly existence.  It’s a mystical, positive, audible foreshadowing!  Very, very nice!”

“Do you know what makes these perilous times even more perilous?” queried the Holy Spirit.  “ It is a lack of music foreshadowing my future Administration!  Listen!  THIS is the music I will reveal and want my family to grasp onto!  Don’t just emulate the world with a mousey second best!  I want to hear First Class Music in these very transient, perilous times!”

Wow.  I grew out of breath.  We are to stay vigilant for His Spirit creating in and through us, to enhance and empower Relationship, Character, Function and Reproduction, with the energy and power extracted from the musical substance we convey, bathing ourselves and others in, as His future administrators of the Universe! And then there was a sense of His Heavenly angelic choirs waiting to look into this!

“It’s what would have continued from Eden, had there been no sin,” He added.  “But now discernment is always needed as a final check.  My infused and lovingly imparted Divine Quality Control.  My sheep hear My voice.  Did not David sing as a shepherd?”  Of course  Of course!  He administered ordered and care and lovely sounds to His sheep! The throne of David is the throne of a musical shepherd!  Where there rules and reigns awesome Divine Power!    

(A final word on discernment: Satan works overtime, perhaps with a specially-trained demonic Special Forces unit, to influence and allure Divinely-gifted musicians into drugs, alcohol, perversions, deviations, the occult, profiteering priorities, and any combination thereof.  The spiritual High Quality of their output is then desecrated. Even Christian composers and performers have descended into this.  But musically there is Strength in Purity.  Discern what is tainted and rise above it!  Time to administer Power Music!  And that includes music which heals, bequeaths Joy, and honors Him as He always intended to be honored and celebrated!)  

MUSIC IN THE TRIBULATION (And Before)

Internationally-acclaimed Christian leader Wink Pratney emphasized that for every new book we read, one should read two older books. The following timeless musical insights harken back to 1621. Let the Holy Spirit lead you in the following reading, “Chewing up the meat and spitting out the bones.” But the meat is very, very Delicious! On the positive end, it reveals the power of select music as God meant it to be, unburdening, freeing, and definitely sustaining and keeping people alive – just before and during the Tribulation – until they have made the Eternal Commitment to follow Christ as Lord and Savior! And even after! Enjoy!

There is a lot above to think about. “Diseases mitigated by musick.” Yes. Yes. Many such as Alyosha on Sid Roth, a friend of mine, has seen people even cured while performing his Anointed piano music. It roars against melancholy and revives the languishing soul! especially when Anointed for Ministry. A Sovereign Remedy against Despair and Melancholy! Get ready! Get ready! It is no accident you are reading this!

New Insights

Considering the canon of Scripture, it’s a common error for the less scholarly to think of all ancient documents – alleged to be Christian, but outside the Scripture canon – to be fiction, Gnostic or heresy, fit for today’s occult New Age.  To be under the category of what Paul called, “cleverly devised fables.” Thus, everything deemed under this convenient catch-all category is quickly dismissed; readers consider themselves ever loyal to Truth and go their way…

But wait a minute! There is still another category Satan wants all to consider non-existent.  And that is the category of True History.  True neglected history.  Josephus gives us True History though his is not neglected.  But how many other true histories are neglected?

For decades, I wouldn’t go anywhere near the Gospel of Mary; patting myself on the back for exemplary loyalty to Scriptural Truth.  But then, one day, I saw the same Matthew who wrote the Gospel of Matthew also wrote the Gospel of Mary.  Hmmm.  Perusing it, I could only conclude Matthew would not lie about this, any more than Josephus would lie. Standing as an authentic historical document, though not considered Scripture, its history appears as valid from the Jewish Matthew as from the Jewish Josephus.

Under God’s Sovereignty, could it be that as Scriptural prophecy is progressive, the revealing of True History is progressive?  A “Fullness of time” for both?    That God knew of these neglected histories in their archaeological wombs, before they were born, and when they were to be born?

More and more, I considered the Gospel of Peter under this category.  Could it be Peter had both Scriptural writings and true non-canon history as did Matthew?  In 1886, the French archeological mission excavating in the grave of a monk, came upon a parchment codex.  Scholars realized for the first time that a striking discovery, possibly of overwhelming importance, had been made.  Unfortunately, only a portions of The Gospel According to Peter was restored to the Christian Community after having been lost for ages.  Indeed, Justin Martyr’s ancient testimony says, “The conclusion with which we are confronted is that The Gospel of Peter once held a place of honor, comparable to that assigned to the Four Gospels, perhaps even higher than some of them.”

So what happened?  Surely, God is able to preserve His Word.    

As I read this, what unfolded fascinated me more and more.  These fascinations centered on the Petronius centurion.  For those of us who are seasoned Christians, we have studied the difference between “Petras” and “Petra” regarding Christ’s words, “Upon this Rock I will build my Church.” The rock upon which the church will be built is “petra“, a feminine noun, the Bride of Christ.     Some hold that when Jesus said “Upon this rock I will build my church,” he was referring to Peter, because the two Greek words – petros and petra – basically mean the same thing, they say.  The debate rages over whether “the rock” on which Christ will build His church is Peter, or Peter’s confession that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the Living God” (Matthew 16:16). In all honesty, there is no way for us to be 100% sure which view is correct. The grammatical construction allows for either view.

The first view is that Jesus was declaring that Peter would be the “rock” on which He would build His church. Jesus appears to be using a play on words. “You are Peter (petros) and on this rock (petra) I will build my church.” Since Peter’s name means rock, and Jesus is going to build His church on a rock – it appears that Christ is linking the two together. God used Peter greatly in the foundation of the church. It was Peter who first proclaimed the Gospel on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:14-47). Peter was also the first to take the Gospel to the Gentiles (Acts 10:1-48). In a sense, Peter was the rock “foundation” of the church. The other popular interpretation of the rock is that Jesus was referring not to Peter, but to Peter’s confession of faith in verse 16: “You are the Christ, the son of the living God.” 

In any event, in The Gospel of Peter, we now see Petronius standing before the Rock sealing the grave.  Not only does “Petronius” also refer to rock, but the mention of him and the scribes, guarding the tomb, associatively call to mind Peter (Petras) and his young scribe, Mark, whose gospel was basically the words of Peter.  On one level, this arrangement could have been intended as a Satanic mockery, with a non-Christian Petronius and non-Christian scribes guarding the Tomb with its sealed rock.       

On the other hand, “Upon this (rolled away) Rock I will build my Church.”  Our Lord and the Holy Spirit are not less myriad minded than Shakespeare.  Shakespeare, created by God (whether or not associated with Francis Bacon) explored the multiple meanings of words and phrases and all were accurate. 

I have been to the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem. I stood where Petronius stood, where the famous Rock was rolled away; and inside the tomb, where Christ refused to remain confined.  And I now have to ask myself, “Why would God hold back a fragment of the Gospel of Peter till more recent times?  The Gospel of Peter, commented on in Justin Martyr’s ancient testimony.”
